Custom Fishing Rods by Old Salt
Here at OLD SALT, we've been in business for over 15 years building custom fishing rods and baits. Our goal is to put custom designed rods into the hands of fishermen and women around the Midwest, rods that suit their style and meet their special requirements. Our key ingredient is our confidence--confidence that we build rods that meet our customers' individual needs. We have a Pro Staff and a Field Testing Group that provides OLD SALT with an objective eye and well-rounded opinion of our products. All of our rods are hand-constructed, to your specifications, to give you the finest rods at affordable prices. 
OLD SALT uses St. Croix and American Matrix blanks for their rods - the finest available. We carry over 500, custom - designed, open water rods, and 100 ice rods. We also have a limited amount of St. Croix prototype rods. New to the market, are our American Matrix rods, which are our "hands down" best seller. The American Matrix series fuses the beauty of woven twill graphite material, with the traditional intermediate modulus blank design. The result is a cutting - edge blank, the first of its kind in a beautiful emerald green or black color. The "Matrix" material adds power and sensitivity to the butt section, without inhibiting the top section. The American Matrix series is a truly rising star. 
For our rod guides, we use Fugi SiC, Halide, Titanium Nitride, and coated Zirconium ring guides--with black frames, and bold and blue rings. We also offer the all holographic color. Our cork grips are made from the finest Portuguese cork, and our reel seats are likewise the best available.
